Continue to Barden Tower, a ruined castle perched on a limestone cliff, and return to Skipton along the opposite bank of the river.

Littondale

Littondale is a hidden gem of the Yorkshire Dales. This narrow, secluded valley is home to a scattering of remote farms and cottages. The River Skirfare trickles through the valley, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Littondale is a great place to escape the crowds and enjoy some peaceful walking.

Malhamdale

Malhamdale is one of the most dramatic valleys in the Yorkshire Dales. At its heart is Malham Cove, a towering limestone formation that offers stunning views of the valley below. Malhamdale is also home to Gordale Scar, a deep gorge with sheer limestone cliffs.

Dentdale

Dentdale is a long, narrow valley that follows the River Dee. The valley is surrounded by high hills and offers some of the most challenging walking in the Yorkshire Dales. Dentdale is home to the village of Dent, which has a number of historic buildings and a lively market square.
