About the Author
Monica Dickens was born in London, England, in 1915. She was the granddaughter of the famous novelist Charles Dickens. Dickens began writing at a young age, and her first novel, Mariana, was published in 1940. She went on to write over 20 novels, as well as children's books, short stories, and plays.
Dickens's novels are known for their warmth, humor, and insight into human nature. She often wrote about the lives of ordinary people, and her characters are often relatable and endearing.
