Alexander the Great was born in Pella, Macedonia, in 356 BC. His father was King Philip II of Macedonia, and his mother was Olympias, the daughter of King Neoptolemus I of Epirus. Alexander was a brilliant student, and he was tutored by the philosopher Aristotle. When Alexander was 20 years old, his father was assassinated, and Alexander became king of Macedonia.

Alexander was a skilled military leader, and he quickly conquered most of the known world. He defeated the Persians at the Battle of Granicus River in 334 BC, and he went on to conquer Egypt, Syria, and Babylonia. In 331 BC, Alexander defeated the Persians at the Battle of Gaugamela, and he became the ruler of the Persian Empire. Alexander's empire stretched from Greece to India, and he is considered one of the greatest military commanders in history.

Alexander died in Babylon in 323 BC, at the age of 32. He was undefeated in battle, and he is considered one of the most successful military commanders in history. Alexander's empire was divided among his generals after his death, but his legacy lived on. He is still considered one of the greatest military commanders in history, and his life is still studied by military historians today.
